I have made some changes to my web page. I have added a history about the Slovenian Community at Willard Wisconsin. I have also added the Willard and Waukegan KSKJ and SNPJ histories. Take a look. You may recognize some surnames that you are researching. Good Morning, Does anyone know anything about Millgate Farm, it would have been located in Millburn, IL.? I lived there a small child. Pictures would be great.
Dear Joan, Thank you for the reply. I am looking for information on Martha Alworth who died in June of 1910, and Cathrine Donnelly ,who I believe ,died in 1910. I was hoping to find the names of Martha's parents and where Martha was born. I am also interested in Cathrines' parents. I believe her father was John Farrell , a rather common name. I found a John Farrell, who died in Chicago in 1911 at the age of 90. He was intered in St. Marys in Waukegan. The age is about right and since his daughters were both intered in St. Marys I thought it may be him. Would you have any information on him? I certainly appreciate your help. Regards, Donna
Donna, Larsen & Conrad and Conrad & Hart are just two of the names by which the present Peterson-Patch Funeral Home was known over the years. This business was begun in 1868 and has been doing business continuously ever since. Over the years it has had 11 or 12 different names but the records (except for 2 1/2 years in the early 1900s) are complete. The Lake County IL Genealogical Soc. has copied all of their records through the Fall of 1945. Who is it you are looking for and what information do you want? Joan Roden, L.C.G.S. Just a couple of years ago Mr. Celozzi bought Reed Randle Ford and the new Celozzi Ford decided it needed to expand thier used car lot...right into Union Cemetary. They leveled a mortuary and I dont know what they did with the remains. The people laid to rest there passed in the early 1900's. Hi, Does anyone know if there is still a LARSEN -CONRAD or a CONRAD &HART FUNERAL HOME in Waukegan and if not would anyone know where their records might be? Several relatives used this funeral home and I was hoping to get some information . Thanks, Donna
Hi Bill: I would like to thank you for the information. With the aid of your information and my GPS and maps I have my itinerary planned, all the addresses are located. I will only be in Waukegan for the day on Friday, so hopefully I will successfully achieve all my tasks. Also thanks for mentioning the Waukegan Historical Society. I would have missed that one completely.. Is union cemetery the one right next to the old Reed Randle Ford, on the corner of Grand and Green Bay Roads? > [Original Message] > From: Therese Ives <[email protected]> > To: <[email protected]> > Date: 3/13/01 9:05:46 PM > Subject: [[ILLAKE]: ] Re: CLEAVER > > Janice Buchanan mentioned in her email on the above, that someone was > recording the stones at Union Cemetery, Grand Avenue, Waukegan, Illinois. > If that person is reading this, I wonder if they would search for my > ancestor's name on his/her listing. Janice Buchanan mentioned in her email on the above, that someone was recording the stones at Union Cemetery, Grand Avenue, Waukegan, Illinois. If that person is reading this, I wonder if they would search for my ancestor's name on his/her listing. Or--if that list is deposited somewhere with some group -- please let us know. I know from his death certificate that Walter LEVENDOWSKI/ LEWANDOWSKI/ LEVANDOWSKI was buried there in 1929. Thank you. T. Ives researching: BREAN, BENTLEY, LEVENDOWSKI, GORKOWSKI
Lakesters: Mary Whiteley/Whitley CLEAVER, wife of William CLEAVER, d. 13 February 1855 in Warren Twp. or Waukegan, Lake Co., IL. Does anyone know if the local newspaper archives or the Lake County Genealogical Society would have an obit. for her? She is bur. at Union Cemetery, Route 132 (Grand Ave.) all by her lonesome. Quite by accident another lister had just found her marker after recording burials at Union. Her marker was almost unreadable. I believe she died of childbirth complications as she died 1 month after the birth of baby George Bernard CLEAVER. He died 19 August 1856. She is my 2nd great grandfather's first wife. They had 5 children. William m. Sophia ZIMMERMANN. I might add that I was so grateful to the lister who found her burial site. My 2nd great grandmother Sophia raised her children and additionally had 5 children of her own with William. Any help is welcome. Janice Brown Buchanan Elk Grove, Sacramento Co., CA.
After receiving Janice's email I thought I would ask if a record of burials at Union Cemetery exists? I have been looking for the burial site of Jonathan Harvey who lived in Gurnee and was deceased in 1845. Do burials at the cemetery go back that far? Has anyone seen a marker for Jonathan Harvey? Ron Waukegan's Library is located downtown at the southwestern corner of Clayton and County Streets. They should be able to help you with back issues of the News-Sun, the local newspaper. North Shore Garden of Memory is located in North Chicago, Illinois on Green Bay Road just south of 14th Street. The main address is off of Green Bay Road at 28th Place. I will be in Waukegan to do research this Friday! I had an Uncle who spent most of his working life in Waukegan. His name was Lloyd Jasinsky, and he was an electrical engineer that had something to do with the local power system in the area. I need some recommendation as to where would be a place I could find microfilms of Waukegan newspapers; Directions to and layouts etc. of the North Shore cemetery where he is buried. The Lake county web site does not give a library in town, unless I missed it. I would appreciate any help. Thanks, Ron Zoz http://www.grandpaz.com http://www.zoz.cc
Hi Margaret, Have you had any responses re your surnames. I know I've sent info to you re Willard. Would any of the others be found on the 1870 census? I received an index for the 1880 census from Lake County Genealogical society but it doesn't correspond with the Heritage Quest page numbering. It will atleast give me some idea atleast, of what names are on the cd. -Brenda Gaetz [email protected] P.S. I've forgotten where you are located. ----- Original Message ----- From: margaret reed <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, March 09, 2001 8:41 AM Subject: [[ILLAKE]: ] Lake Co. surnames > Hi Sarah and all on list: > Adding the surnames I'm researching in Lake County: Warren, Willard, > Fairman, Barnes, Judd.
