Since my local library will not request obits from out of country, I'm hoping someone could look up the following for me. Charles Koller Born July 1, 1864 Died May 7, 1899 at the age of 34. He was killed by cars. His occupation is recorded as farmer. He belonged to Camp No. 1176 located in Highland Park Illinois. The above info was provided to me by M.W.A If I can get a copy of his obit it may help me in identifying which side of the family he belonged to as a woman from both sides of my families married a Koller. I also have an old business card with H.J. Coller on it, so I'm really confused! It may also help me to identify a memorial photo I have. Obit can be sent by email or snail mail if SKS can do this for me ;o) Thank you Brenda G. [email protected]
I've checked rootsweb.com and cannot find Lake County 1910 census transcription. There are other counties done, but not the one I'm looking for. Perhaps I'm looking in the wrong place? -Brenda ----- Original Message ----- From: Raymond McCraren <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, March 31, 2001 5:10 PM Subject: [[ILLAKE]: ] Re: [[ILLAKE]: ] 1910 census > It is on line in rootsweb.com. > > "C. Hello, List, I know this is a shot in the dark, but the only constant fact I have among all of my documents is that my gfather, Robert Martin (Martins, Mertin, Mertins, Marten, Martens) at age 24, gave his birthplace as Highland Park, Ill. (on his 1873 NY marriage certificate and, subsequently, all his children's birth certificates). I have NOT been able to verify him being in Ill. at all! He gave his parents names as Robert Martin and Alvina Wissinger. The Ill. marriage index (I have certificate) lists Alvina Wissinger married to ERNST Martin, Jan. 30, 1873, EXACTLY 24 years before my gf was married! Is there anyone on the list able to connect Ernst Martin (Martins, etc.)to any of the cemeteries or census lists they may have access to? I thank you all for your efforts and a great list! BTW...ALL of the above spellings have been on *official* documents..EACH of Robert's three children has a different surname spelling on their birth certificates and my father, Fred, b.Dec.31, 1900 is named as Robert Jr. on his birth certificate...SO IS HIS BROTHER ROBERT! born in 1907! Shall I give up the search now? ===== Ann __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get email at your own domain with Yahoo! Mail. http://personal.mail.yahoo.com/?.refer=text
Has the 1910 federal census been released to the public yet, if so, is there anyone who could do a lookup for me? Thankyou, Brenda G. [email protected]
Hi, I am new to this list and am wondering if anybody can help me with a few questions. Am trying to locate a Theodore and Wilhelmina Buck (great-grandparents) Have located a Theodore (age 57?) in Lake Co listed on the 1900 census. Also a Theodore and Eugene Buck (ages 11 and 9) listed as boarders in Cook Co. About 25 boys were listed as boarders in a household headed by a Hoenig Borne. Does anyone know if this was an orphanage-sweathouse or anything else. Also does anyone have access to the 1910 census to see if any of these names show up again with more info. Thanks in advance. Mark
Thank you very much for checking. I am wondering if there was more than one Levi Parker in Lake County around 1850-60. The one who married Caroline Vandemark moved to Cerro Gordo County, IA before 1860, but I see another Levi Parker in Fremont Township on the 1860 census index. Do you know whether this Levi was David Parker's grandfather? I checked my Ivanhoe and Swan Cemetery records. One of my great aunts married David Parker, grandson of Levi Parker. They are burried in Ivanhoe Cemetery but not Levi Parker.
Looking to share information on Joseph GARWOOD (b: 1764 N.J.), Samuel Garwood (b:PA d: pb Avon Twp or Antioch) Would appreciate probate records of Joseph GARWOOD.
Thank you for answering the question re the McGuire family of Hainesville (1920 Federal Census). You gave me information on my great grandmother (Elizabeth McGuire) that I did not have. I know that the Census is difficult to read and that often the information was not 100% correct (creative spelling being the most frequent cause of mis- understanding). Mary C, the 8 year old daughter, was Mary Elizabeth. The son was Edward Quin (called Quin by everyone, as his father was Edward). Thanks again for your willingness to answer queries.
No, sorry, all I have to go on is the fact that his death certificate said burial was at Union Cemetery, Waukegan, ILL. Walter/Wladyslaw Levendowski/Lewandowski died on Jan 10, 1929 and was buried on Jan 14, 1929, undertaker - J. J. Petroshius, North Chicago. Thank you for your efforts. God Bless. T. Ives
I'm looking for a cemetery record for Maria C. Vandemark Parker, who died sometime between 1850 and 1855. She was the wife of James J. Parker. In 1850 they were living in Avon Township. In addition to a death or burial date, I am hoping to find an approximate date of birth. I suspect that she may have been a twin of sister Martha Caroline Vandemark who married Levi Parker in Lake County. If anyone has access to cemetery records, I'd appreciate a lookup. Thanks! Christine

Recently, as his Eagle Scout project, a young man researched this issue. I saw a sign on a side street in Libertyville, proclaiming it as the former site of the track. If I can dig up any other info, I'll let you know. Or you just might want to contact the Libertyville-Mundelein Historical Society directly. (they work out of Cook Memorial Library, 413 N. Can anyone on the list tell me anything about this building? I.E. where it came by it's name. In 1922 it was located at 139 N. Sheridan Road, but now it is 34 N. Sheridan Road. Also does 137 N. Sheridan still exist? It may have been renumbered, I don't know. Thank you for any answers, I am always looking for them! -Brenda [email protected]
