My ancestors were also married by Samuel Hurlbutt. Anthony D. Miller and Eliza Pomeroy were married in 1838 in McHenry County. I too would like to have information on this minister. Anthony was associated with the Methodist Episcopal Church and was often listed as a "local preacher" in census records. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Shirley Karle" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, April 29, 2001 10:52 PM Subject: [[ILLAKE]: ] > My ancestors were married in Lake Co. My ancestors were married in Lake Co. George Fish and Ann West were married 11 March 1841 by Samuel Hurlbutt, Minister of the gospel of Christ. Can anyone tell me more about this minister and what religion he might have been? I would like to see if there are any surviving church records. There were also several Fish children born in the area that may have had baptismal records. They may have been Methodist but I do not know for sure. Can anyone help? Thank you!!
Val, Thank you very much for taking the time to do this searching for me. The only McMahon that I have in the that area would be Richard "Dick" D. McMahon. His wife Emma Hecht McMahon. Thanks again...........jentami
It is a very long picture but I will see what we can do. I don't know if we will get to it tonight.
My Gould's are from that area. Can you email the picture? I might be able to recognize someone. Cathy Sheehan [email protected]
Dear Jentami- I found no full text listings for any of the names you gave me. I did find simple address listings for the following: John Koch, carpenter, Long Grove; Owen McMahon, farmer, Wauconda; Warren McMahon, farmer, Wauconda. I don't know if this provides any help for you. My family was in the Long grove area, so if John Koch is someone in your line, let me know and I can check other sources. Hope this helps. val peiler
Dear Ann, I searched both the text and the geographic listings in the book and was unable to locate anything to help. I am saving your message, however, and will try to keep an eye out as I come across Lake County information. Sorry I couldn't be more help. val peiler

Am looking for info regarding a Rev. Lippman in the River Forest area around 1900 - 1910. Would assume he was probably a Lutheran minister. Also many thanks to Gary Price and Nyla Jogerst for helping me locate a host of new relatives. You are the greatest.
Hello All, FRED BELLOWS is listed on a roster of town and city officers of Waukegan as being and Aldeman in the 5th ward in the years 1904--1908. Can anyone give me any information on Fred Bellows? Any help will be very much appreciated. Thanks, Donna
Good Morning, I had a visit with a distant relative last evening, she was telling me that a few years ago she was at an antiques place and saw a book about a census for dairy farms in Lake County, IL. around the 1916's she was not sure of the year. Our family was mentioned in the book but she did not have the money with her, and when she went back the book was gone. Can anyone out there help us locate another one? We are interested in the Kick family. Maybe others. [email protected]
To: Jim Kleinert - Has anyone answered your inquiry yet? If not, the Waukegan Historical Society could help you for both surnames. I find them at http://www.waukeganparks.org/histsoc.html I saw the strike mentioned in a book at the North Chicago Library. When I get there, I will copy the article for you, if you still need it. T. Hi, this is really kind of you. They mostly lived in Libertyville, they owned farms for racehorses. It would have been close to the Lake Co. Fairgrounds, I think. There is one listing that I have that says that they lived on the pike from Chicago to Libertyville. I doubt this is any help. Surnames: McMahan/McMahon, Hecht, Koch,Breautigam. I put the surnames in order of their importance to me, so if there are too many the first two are the most important. Thank again, jentami
