Jean, the Wkgn. Historical Soc. has the Oakwood Cem. records and maybe records of other cemeteries. Their mailing address: P. O. Box 857, Waukegan, IL 60079. Location 1917 N. Sheridan Rd., Waukegan Phone (847) 360-4772 (As I look at this, the zip 60079 does not look right to me. Can someone please help with this?) T. Ives
Hi Everybody, I have added a new page to my site. It is a death notice index for the obituaries, holy cards, memorial cards and news articles I have in my possession. The individuals lived in the Waukegan & Lake County, Willard/Greenwood Wisconsin and various other areas of the country. Many were members of the Waukegan and Willard Slovenian Communities. Please feel free to contact me if any are of interest to you or if you have any that could be added to this collection. Hello there, Do you know if these or any other cemetery registers in Waukegan have been indexed please? Is there any way of getting in touch with this cemetery via email or regular post? I am still trying to find out where many of my PALMER family are buried. Happy Hunting, Jean in Victoria, B.C. I should have mentioned that the info covers from 1871 to about 1933. Page 2 will be forthcoming. -Brenda G.
These names etc. were on a xerox copy of some records I have here. As the column headings were not on this page, I'm not sure what all of this means. BUT, there is further info for these people if any one on the list is interested. Perhaps it will help you narrow down property searches. These all pertain to Lake County. There is a second page that has Grantee on it. I am pretty sure that Grantor =seller Grantee = buyer. -Brenda G. [email protected] 375796 Sarvella, Ethel S. and Hus. (sold to?) Wauk. Someone just recently drove their car through the cemetery's fence on So. Sheridan Rd, Waukegan, IL, snapping off a tall yew . Also knocked off a few stones. The email addres for "RAG" is [email protected] As I said earlier, if they locate something for you, please, please, respond in kind and pay any costs as soon as you receive your info from them. We are all in danger of losing their help if they don't get reimbursed. They have various resources at their disposal. They can also be located through Cook County list. -Brenda G. ----- Original Message ----- From: DuffyJB <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, July 14, 2001 12:33 PM Subject: [[ILLAKE]: ] Re: [[ILLAKE]: ] re Lake County death index > That is good news, but how do I contact RAG? > > Thanks, > > Bonnie > From: "C. To get to their site, I used http://www.co.lake.il.us/ctyclk/vrecords.htm I was then told -- you can't get there from here!! So you start all over with www.co.lake.il.us Then look for the "Contents" in which you will find Lake County Clerk and finally vital records. Happy Hunting T.Ives

Thanks Brenda, I too would like to know how to contact them as well as address. Thanks! Margaret
I've just found out that there is a death index for all of Illinois. "RAG" will do lookups for the whole state. But please, when requesting a search be sure and pay them the (very small) fee they require once you have received your info from them. What they charge is obviously a pittance and they are ever so helpful. It is a lot cheaper for myself and others to ask for their help, than it is to travel to the records. -Brenda G.
Lake County Clerks office in Waukegan, IL. They have a web site. Waukegan is about 40 miles north of Chicago. Hi List Where would I write to get a Marriage cert for my Mother who married her second husband in 1949, Waukegon? Many thanks for any assistance. Al Campbell
Is there someone on the list that can tell me if there is a transcription of the above cemetery, particularly the older section (pre 1920)? Also is there an available death index for Lake County such as there is for Cook County? Also, I have checked the County clerk's web site for info on sending for death certificates. It is not clear as to whether they will only search a specific date. I can only narrow down my g.g. grandparents SASCH's death's to within a year time frame. Will they do a broad search such as this? Has anyone else had this problem? researching: SASCH, KOLLER, RUDOLPH, JOHNSON Thank you for any responses re the above. Brenda G.
