Thank you. She is buried in St. Marys. I would like to get some sort of record. Donna
Thanks for responce.
There is also a Catholic Cemetary called St. Mary's which is on Sheridan Road in Waukegan.
I understand that St. Joseph Church is gone but the records might be at Immaculate Conception Church which is another Catholic Church in Waukegan. Hope this helps
I have been unable to find an obit for Mrs. Charles (Honore) Bellows who passed away in June of 1911,however there was mention of her death in TOWN HAPPENINGS, in the Waukegan Daily News. It states that her funeral will be held at 9 o'clock from St. Joseph's Church. Is there still a St. Joseph's church in Waukegan and can someone tell me how I might get records from the church if, indeed, it still exists?

The Waukegan Gazette was published as early as the 1850s in available on microfilm at the Waukegan Public Library and also in the Genealogy Room at Fremont Public Library in Mundelein. If the people were quite well known in the county, then there may be some mention of the divorce, but usually there is not a lot of news about local families in the early Waukegan papers. All: The site index has returned to the newly redesigned web page at Barrington Area Library. The site index allows you to type in a name, place, subject, etc. and it will search our site for any occurrences on our web page. It comes in handy for the birth, death and marriage indexes. As always, if I may be of assistance, please email me at the address below. Thanks, Kate Mills Barrington Area Library 505 N. Northwest Hwy. Barrington, IL 60010 [email protected]
Hi! Just a short note to announce a new item on the Fremont Public Library District's webpage. We have added a transcript of the the local phonebook for the Libertyville/Rockefeller (present day Mundelein) area. It is at: http://www.fremontlibrary.org/localhistory/LMPhoneBooks1912Aug.htm Hope you find this of interest. Pam McLaughlin Fremont Public Library 1170 N. Midlothian Rd. Hi, Does anyone out there have an index for the 1900 Federal Census for Illinois? If so could you please do a look up for me? I am looking for ZENAS SMITH and his wife HELEN. Also MARY HURD , HELEN'S mother. I believe they lived in BOONE COUNTY. I appreciate your help. Thanks, Donna

Kathleen >> In short, April 1 at midnight. Get all the details at the National Archives web site...http://www.nara.gov/genealogy/genindex.html You can order microfilms any time and they'll be shipped the first week of April. The bad news is how few states have a Soundex - Illinois is not among them, so be prepared to tough it out. They explain that NARA bought lots of City Directories on microfilm from around the country to make it easier to find where a person lived - then you can dig out the Enumeration District and that will save you lots of reader cranking. I'm glad I don't have to research Cook County! Our local National Archives office down in Fort Worth plans to open at midnight - and I bet they'll be busy! If you can get to one of the 9 regional offices it sure will save you time if you have a number of names to research. When I can't go on the road to do research, I can always do another lookup in the census after work... Bob Denton County, Texas
Seeking a professional to do a search in Lake County and in greater Illinois that may require some creative digging. Let me know your rates. Thanks. Julie
The 1930 census will be out in April 2002. There will be LOTS of demand for it and may be hard to get immediately.
