FYI Antioch is right on the border of Wisconsin. So, perhaps they married there in Kenosha or Milwaukee?
If you lived in Antioch, Lake Co. in c1886, and ran off to get married where would you go? Where is the Reno, or Stateline, NV to Californians? I am looking for the marriage of John Stacy PARKER to Celia E. MARSH. Not in your state marriage website. KJ Parker [email protected]
I got it. I thought I had to go through a search engine. I'm not to adapt at this computer world. Directory of Illinois Libraries Address:http://www.library.sos.state.il.us/library/lib_dir/pub/pubrec_V.htm Here is a list of some libriries in IL. AVON is listed. Roger §
Would someone please give me the name, address and email of the library that would contain the most genealogy information for Antioch and Avon. From the county map, Antioch appears to be so isolated. It was suggested I write the library for information that they may have for undertaking records in the 1850's. KJ Parker [email protected]

I know death records did not start until 1877. Is there a mortuary, undertaker who might have death records in the 1850's. KJ Parker [email protected]
Thanks very much for looking up this information for me. I don't know exactly if it fits. My great-great grandfather was named James Fagan. The only documented record I have for him was that he was married in 1876 in Lake County. The James you mentioned would have been 44 in 1876 -- pretty old (for those days) to have had 8 children. His daughter, Rose, was born in Deerfield according to oral history. I think I have more digging to do before I know if this is a match. I do appreciate the help, though! There is no listing for Leihy among the Taxpayer rolls in Past and Present. Sorry. val peiler
There are numerous Fagans listed in the Taxpayer roles for Deerfield County in the Past and Present. James, John, Lawrence, Michael, and James Sr. are all listed as farmers. A more extensive bio for Christopher is as follows: Fagan, Christopher, farmer; Section 17; PlO. Highwood; dem; Cath; born in 1802 at Col. W. Meath, Ireland; married Bridget Bradley, 1829; she was born in 1801, at Co. W. Meath, Ireland; they came to this county in Oct., 1837, where they have lived ever since; Mr. Fagan became a U. Dear Brenda, There are no other listings for Sasch or either of the Johnson names other than the listings in the Taxpayers section in Past and Present. The Deerfield section focuses greatly on the original settlers of Highland Park. Sorry, val peiler
Does anyone have information on a Magnus Tait who lived in Deerfield and was on the 1840 and 1850 census's? Thanks, P Tait
I have just located via an LDS film the burial site for my g grandfather, John W. FINEL, but know there is not presently a cemetery by this name. I am wondering if anyone out there might know of a present naming for this cemetery. He was listed as being buried in EDDIES GROUND. Another person on the same page, a Roda M. Cropley was also listed as being buried there. I suspect that it may be the present Benton Greenwood cemetery. Which I have found record showing it being named earlier as Howe Family cemetery. Knowing that my grandparents are buried there. Also having found via land records that an EDDY family owned land where or very near where Benton Greenwood cemetery presently is located. If there is anyone researching the EDDY surname from Benton Township possibly they might know. Thank you greatly for any help, Don Finel in Washington state ---------------------------------------------------- Sign Up for NetZero Platinum Today Only $9.95 per month! http://my.netzero.net/s/signup?r=platinum&refcd=PT97
