    1. Looking for Margaret Harrison Scott/Pangborn
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Harrison, Scott, Pangborn Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Sg.2ADI/1831 Message Board Post: Greetings, I've been here before and appreciated the help of various people. I'm back on the hunt for information about the death and buriel site of my grandmother, Margaret Harrison. She was married to Paul Arthur Scott (who at some point changed his last name to Pangborn, probably prior to or during his marriage to Margaret.) Margaret was from the Antioch area, daughter of Margaret and Charles Harrison. Her parents are buried in Antioch but not Margaret. She may be buried in the Waukegan area. The Scotts all lived in the Waukegan area. She and Paul had one daughter, Ella-Gayle, my mother. There is no record of Margaret's death in the Lake County Court House. She died in November 1915 at about age 22. Any suggestions or clues are most appreciated! Thanks much. Jayne Adams Piehl, Perham, MN

    3. Cindy- You're very welcome. Just to save you some valueable search time, Zion lies in Lake County. All of the Lake County records are held at the Lake County Courthouse in Waukegan. The Waukegan Library is right next to the courthouse, a good place to look at city directories and phonebooks. The Lake County Genealogical Society has a research space and archives for a lot of Lake County, and they are at the Fremont Library in Mundelein. Not sure if you knew that stuff but thought you and others might find that usefull. Would anyone be willing to walk around and take photos with a disposable camera for me of their headstones? If so, let me know and we can discuss price and I'll give you the names. 3. This link will take you to the Lake County, County Clerk<http://www.co.lake.il.us/cntyclk/vital/death.asp>website. From there, you can print out a form to mail in your request. You may want to call ahead of time for the cost of genealogical copies. Last time I got one, they were cheaper, but they were marked, "For Genealogical Purpose Only". Her husband was John and they had a son John - 7 years old and a son William - 5. She was 31 when she married him. I'll keep looking for some more info, but so far I couldn't find them on any other census. The spelling of their name is Stareskina.

Neither of us lived in Deerfield (which is about 10/15 miles south), but lived in Warren Township. Warren Township consisted of a few towns. Those I remember would be Gurnee, Gages Lake, and Woodland. I recently saw Janet at a class reunion, but don't know her married name. I can find out however. If interested in contacting her, please let me know. You also mentioned MAHEN name. Very near Deerfield was a settlement of many Irish called MEEHAN'S Settlement. There are documents/letters written about Meehan's and its inhabitants. You may find information in those documents. You can contact the The Waukegan Historical Society for information on them.
