I am need to find out what township the town of Surry was in in 1900 in Knox County. I can't find it on a modern map but it was listed in a 1908 obituary. Any help is appreciated. Thank you Sharon Haney

Hi Sharon, Here is my favorite page... http://mapping.usgs.gov/www/gnis/gnisform.html After a few false searches I came across Surrey populated place in Warren Co. (next to Knox) . It identifies it as 12 km west of Galesburg. if you go to this page and fill in the blanks you can get a map...Looks like it in the area of Berwick. Good luck.
