My records show that a church by this name was organized in Chestnut township, near Hermon (not far from Knoxville), in 1853. The sources of information I have on this church contain conflicting information, and do not contain much information. I know for sure that Cyrus Humphrey and his son Squire Humphrey were ministers here, also Andrew J. Goforth, and some of the Eggers family were members. I have several names of people who were members of this church in a database.
