BARROWS, enumerated in 1850 Knox County, Illinois with "Ezekiel Wikoff" #1496; next door #1497 is a "Garrett Wikoff".  This Wm. F. Barrows next appears in Oregon, 1870. He was alone in the 1850 but had married Eliza Jane Stafford in Madison Co IL 1847. They had three children, Rebecca Ann, Mary Eliza and William Walter. Mary Eliza was born in Knox county in 1850. Her mother died 8 February 1852. The children were split-up, William & Mary J. go to a family named GREEN (no record found). Rebecca Ann goes to a family named Coe. The only document found for Mary Eliza Barrows is her 1864 Yolo Co. CA certificate of marriage to Alex. H. Reid. The guardian for Mary E. Barrows is James M. Clark. A cousin who has researched this family line believes the GREEN'S, Clark's & Coe's are some how related to the above.
