    3. Not being familiar with MO records, can only speak for IL ones. The Clerk of the Circuit Court in each courthouse keeps the divorce records. There is an index to the names. Naturally, if you know the approximate year this will help. You may have some difficulty if you only know the husband's name if it is a very common name as there may be multiple entries. If that happens and you may have to read the divorce files that match the name. These files should include the names of minor children and location of real estate owned by the couple, which may be the clues you need. The divorce file will likely give the date and place of marriage, so if you know that you will have another way of matching the people with the case file. Hope this helps. If MO record keeping turns out to be significantly different, better get on a MO list for some help.
