On 10/14/2000 I posted a message regarding a journal about the Jayhawkers. I have gotten further information about this document. The journal was written by Charles B. Mecum's son, Edwin Welton Mecum and entitled, "Memoirs of Edwin Welton Mecum". There were two copies. It was found in a landfill in Cedar City Utah and a man working at the landfill noticed it and didn't cover them up because he felt someone would be interested in them. By using the internet he found a family member to give it to. She then shared it with another Mecum descendent and that is where I got the transcribed copy of the 14 pages covering the Jayhawkers. The entire document is 200 pages long and is about the author and his parents and is in the author's handwriting. So that's the latest on the Mecum journal. Barb Clay Adams
