Sharon: When I read the above, I thought that the name "Carl Magnus Mansson" was familiar, so I checked our database -- and he is familiar. Well, maybe -- that is also the name of my great-great-grandfather. My information is that he was born 15 Oct 1815 at Skeda, Östergötland län, Sweden. I show him with (at least) two sons, Johan August and Carl Gustaf, who initially used the surname Carlsson in Sweden, but adopted "Freeburg" in America. There was also a daughter, Clara Ulrika, but the last information we have on her was moving to Tjärstad parish in 1864. Certainly the naming is unusual enough to warrant my inquiry; it is also common enough that there may be no connection. Since we know little about the family after the 1864, it's entirely possible that they moved to Kalmar län -- it wasn't that far. However, since my Carl Magnus would have been 50 years old in 1865, it's a bit of a stretch (but still possible) that he would then have a newborn. What do you think -- any possibility?? Tom Lundeen
