This is from a Hurlburt list but I will forward what I have to Knox in case it might help someone else. I research Hurlbutt in Knox County and don't think my line used the -urt ending although we all converge further back. Quoted (in small part) from the Hurlburt list (Hurlburt-D-request@rootsweb.com) or use L for non-digest form: Children of Alvah Hulbert and Eleanor Richards are: 10 i. James10 Hurlburt, born 1838 in Ohio. + 11 ii. Lyman Benjamin Hurlburt, born 1841 in Maquon, Illinois ( Knox County ); died Abt. 1929 in Jefferson County, Illinois. 12 iii. Olive C. Hurlburt, born 1843 in Illinois. She married William Brunt in Knox County, Illinois. 13 iv. Lurana Hurlburt, born 1846 in Illinois. 14 v. Isabella Hurlburt, born 1848 in Illinois. I picked up you family when I was going over the Knox Census at the family history center a couple years ago and jotted them down just in case. Here is what I copied (you probably already found this). Notes are a little old and I worked fast so I hope I got it right: 1860 Salem Twp (Knox County): 623601 A. Hurlburt 48 OH Elenor (?) 22 OH Lyman 17 Lab Lorana (?) 14F Isabella 12 Elmer 6 That's all I have. Presume you have gone to the massive Hurlburt/Hurlbutt/Hurlbut/many variations website at: http://www.idsonline.com/hurlburt/ You can ususally tie into your line at the site if you can work back far enough.
