    3. John: E. B. Jordon lived on section 12 in Salem township about 1870 according to the 1870 Atlas of Knox County. This borders on Peoria County and a possibility would be that your John M. Jordan is buried in Elmwood which is about 6 miles from Yates City. Another possibility would be in Fairview Cemetery, Fairview township in Fulton county. I do not find a gravestone listing for him in "Salem township Cemeteries" Knox County. Ruth B. 3. This is for Ruth Ragsdale who is on this list: I have this "abstract" from a newspaper article and I wondered if you could e-mail me and tell me whether you might be able to obtain a copy of the original article. I would love to have a copy. >From the Galesburg Republican Register, Page 12, Saturday, April 20, 1879: Henderson, Illinois. Grandmother Pitman (Susannah Oatman PITMAN) died on Saturday evening, last, another of the old pioneers gone. Mrs. Pitman was 80 years of age. Her funeral was preached by Elder Oscar Smith of Gilson, on Monday, at the Condra Church. (Condra School was in SW 1/4 Section 10, Henderson Township - the school was closed in 1948. * * * * * * * She was my 3rd Great Grandmother and was married to John PITMAN. I understand you are a certified genealogist and I will gladly pay you for this.
