Hello, Please let me toss out another bit of trivia for you to factor in. The main stage coach road from Pittsburgh to Cleveland ran through Portage County, OH. It was the early version of Ohio State Route 14. The last stop going from Pittsburgh to Cleveland before entering Portage County was Salem, OH. I can't reference a time frame of the Quaker (Society of Friends) community in the Salem area but I am sure that it existed. I also can't tell you what county the community was in. Salem is in Columbiana County but much of it is in a niche carved from Mahoning County. By the way, the High School nickname in Salem is "The Quakers". Good luck with your search. --Jack Trauth
