Perhaps you can find Jacob initially in Ohio? I am researching HALL family, who travelled the same locations/dates, and I remember seeing the THURMAN name in both places. One of my HALL ancestors married a THURMAN, but I don't find Jacob in any of my notes. (my connection is through John G. Thurman and Dorothy Strange).
