DOSSETT, JAMES He is the son of James and Thomy (Williams) Dossett, both natives of Virginia, and in moderate circumstances, and was born in Virginia Oct. 27, 1827. He was educated in the common schools, and learned the trade of tailor in which business his early life was passed, but afterwards, became a farmer so that his trade and profession have been that of a farmer and tailor. He removed from Virginia to Illinois, thence California and Oregon, and from those States to Knox County, Illinois. On Aug. 7, 1851 he was married to Cynthia A. Butts.
