John Ennis He is the son of John and Elizabeth (Kelley) Ennis, natives of New York, and was born in New York on June 24, 1806. he was educated in the common schools and Whitesborough Seminary, N. Y. His early life passed in lumbering, farming and teaching school. he studied engineering, surveying, and has followed farming. He was married in 1828 to Sally Loomis. They are the parents of 11 children, of whom 8 are living. He removed to Knox Co. He was School Commissioner, and Commissioner and Inspector of Highways in New York, and School Director and Road Commissioner in Illinois. He unite with the Methodist Church in 1860. A Republican.
