Posted on: Knox Co. Il Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Il/Knox/10955 Surname: Price ------------------------- Seeking information on WILLIAM, (b. Ohio) and EBENEZER PRICE, (b. Knox Co. 26Oct1828. Family history says they left for California gold fields with a group of "Knox County boys" known as the "Jayhawkers". ANY INFORMATION on either of these men would be greatly appreciated. Their father, Jonathon Price, was a resident of Knox. Co, 1828--1858 and most siblings were born there. I had previously found the name ROBERT PRICE, but have been unsuccessful in tying him to the elder William who would have been born 7Jun1763, though believe there might be a tie there. ROBERT PRICE was on the one Jayhawker list forwarded to me, and as of now is my best "clue". Any info on him would also be appreciated. Sherry Balow balowmsg@onemain.com
Sorry I am a while in checking this and responding. While Price's name appears on the list, it seems he opted for a different route and did not go through Death Valley . Those who did not go through Death Valley were not invited to Jayhawker Reunions and consequently their biographical material was not gathered. Sorry I could not be of more help. It seems that Robert Price, Norman Taylor and Cephas Arms travelled in the same wagon and they didn't go for the "short cut". :-) Smart move for them but too bad for us; their information hasn't been gathered.
