Randolph. Jane B. Randolph was born in Kentucky on Sept.26, 1831. Her parents moved to Indiana where her brother, William Randolph, was born in 1836. Their mother's name was Nancy(surname unknown). The family moved to Lee County, Iowa in 1843 and in the 1850 Iowa Cesus, Nancy is a widow, so her husband (unknown Randolph) died between 1836 and 1850. Jane B. Randolph married John B. Chance on Dec. 21, 1846 and had the following children; Shapley (1848), Mary (1853), Nancy (1855), George (1859), Jeanette (1860), Prudence (1864), Rebecca (1865), Reboudas (1865), William (1868), and John (1871). In the 1860 Missouri Census, John B. Chance and family are in Mercer County, Missouri. Jane's mother, Nancy Randolph is living with her brother, William Randolph and his new wife Nancy, on an adjacent farm. In the 1870 Census, Jane and John B. Chance are in Buchanan County, Missouri and William Randolph and his wife, Nancy, are in Decatur County, Iowa. In the 1880 Illinoia Census, William Randolph is in Knox County, Illinois with his wife and four children, William (1866), Sarah (1870), Kate (1876), and Mary (1879) all born in Iowa. Jane's husband, John Chance died between 1871 and 1876 and she married James Adkison on April 10, 1876 in Knox County, Illinois and she remained in Knox County until her death on Jan. 28, 1917.
