Ferris, Mrs. H. T. Ferris, Henry The son of Sylvanus and Sally (Olmstead) Ferris, he was born in Herkimer Co., New York on October 18, 1809. He was raised on a farm and sent to the common schools. He came to Galesburg in 1835, being the first colonist, and was married to Elizabeth Hudson in 1836. Of the seven children born to them, one boy and three girls are living.
