Re: Johnson/Ahlstrund surnames: Does your list of relatives in Galesburg include a Lars Johnson who married Clara Beckman? They were married in Knoxville and lived in Galesburg, I believe. They had a daughter, Carrie and a son, Martin. When Carrie was about 14 years old, her mother died leaving her and Martin alone. Lars had died about five years earlier from an accident in the foundery where he worked. Clara died from pneumonia, I believe. Martin lived in an orphanage, (so the family story goes), but Carrie was too old to enter the orphanage, so she lived with an uncle Gustav or Gustavson in Galesburg.
