Maybe this will help-- GULLETT, J. J. He was born in Putnam County, Indiana on June 12, 1823. His early life was passed on the farm and he was educated in the common schools. He learned the trade of a blacksmith, and also followed farming and gold mining. He moved from Indiana to Illinois, then to North Carolina, and again to Illinois, settling in Knox County in 1859. He was married to Delila Upton. They are the parents of three children. While in North Carolina, he was the Captain of Light- house, and worked in the gold mines of North Carolins from 1843 to 1859, digging down 998 feet. Democrat, P.O. Knoxville. Joan :o)
