Il Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Il/Knox/10971 Surname: Johnson, Ahlstrand ------------------------- I'm looking for information regarding Knox County's 1860, I've been trying to find out information for my great great grandfather, John Peter Johnson/Johansson and his relatives. He was born in 1847 in Sweden and I believe he settled in Galesburg w/his parents in 1852. There is a chance some John Peter's relatives might be Gustaf and A. F. Johnson. I'm not sure where in Sweden they came from but will probably be provided in the 1860 census. Sometime between then and the 1870's they changed their name to Ahlstrand. I'm wondering if anyone knows what port of entry might have been used by the immigrants coming in from Sweden. It would be nice to know more about the Swedish Community in Galesburg during that time.
