It said on her certificate that John ANDERSON and Anna MARCUM are her parents. It's hard to read the writing, but it looks like John was born in Kentucky and Anna in Tennessee. For some reason, I thought Alpha's dad's name was Reuben, but perhaps his name was John Reuben, as that's what she named her youngest child. Does anybody happen to have any more information regarding this family? The ANDERSONS had three children: Reuben B. (born about 1844), Alpha (born in 1850), and Mary (born about 1854). Mary married Salem MARTIN and they had a daughter, Bessie, and Reuben served in the Civil War in Company D 102nd Illinois Infantry and died in Florida. Thanks!
