That was the first time I had done research in northern Illinois. My research had been from Champaign south to southern Illinois. I guess I have been spoiled, for in southern Illinois I am free to search any & all records that I am interested in. There is only a charge if you want a copy. Any inquires by mail would probably have a fee. As in the Knox Co. search, I might not always know the year & there might be a name listed that I hadn't known about previously. I agree that the blonde at the courthouse was very nice & helpful but an older lady that works there kept scowling at us as though we were the enemy. Do you know where else I could find birth, death & marriage info? I won't be going back to that courthouse - - I'm not that rich!!! You may email me direct if you would like.
