    1. Re: Swedish ancestor-Lindstrom's
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Lindstrom, Sweeney Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/4g.2ADE/1793.1 Message Board Post: Your father was Frederick Charles Lindstrom b. Nov 21, 1905 in Chicago? If correct his family can be found in 1910 & 1920 in Chicago. In 1910 Fred C., is 39 a plumber born in Illinos to Swedish parents. His wife is Mary, 37 born in IL. Father in law Daniel Sweeney, 71 is also in the home along with 5 children, including Frederick, 4 years old. Illinois state marriage index shows Fred Lindstrom married Mary Sweeney 7-26-1893 in Cook Co, IL. The marriage license may well show his place of birth and parent's names to help you determine where in Illinois his parents could be found. The 1920 reading shows the same information except Dan Sweeney is gone and a sister in law Ida Sweeney is in the home. By 1930 Mary Lindstrom is widowed. A Frederick Charles Lindstrom died 8-9-1926 in Cook Co. Do you have his death certificate or an obituary that may yield clues? The 1880 census doesn't seem to give any match for your grandfather. But given the way census takers mispelled names the index may be missing him in the search. I have never used it but the following research ceneter comes highly recommended by others when searching for Swedish ancestors. http://www.augustana.edu/administration/SWENSON/
