In the 1880 census @ <www.familysearch.org> I have found the name "Tilda" for '...son' last names. Did you find your family @ familysearch? Do you know if Charles Nelson had a first "nickname"? There were many 'Charlie Nelsons' in the Henderson Grove/Soperville area. To distinguish who one was speaking about they were often given some 'interesting' first monikers.
