Wonder if anyone on the list is familiar with Gus Rausch or his family. He was born in Wisconsin in 1862, the son of the Rev. Carl Gustavus Rausch who became pastor of the German Evangelical Church in Galesburg in 1870. Gus married a relative of mine, Emma Howe in 1894 and spent about 10 years in Monmouth, before returning to Galesburg. He and his wife lived at 285 East Simmons Street. No surviving children. He owned a cigar store Gus died in 1923 in Galesburg and is buried at Hope Cemetery. Gus's siblings (according to his obit) were: Mrs. Clara Wenzel, Henry Gensert, Mrs. Julie Smith of Yates City, Mrs. Minnie (or Mamie) Gren of California, Mrs. Emily Kennedy of Galesburg.
