    3. Sharon... would you please provide the URL for the Knox county website you said had most of the old records available. I'm starting searches for the Bainbridge family that was in the Galesburg, area around 1890's to 1920+, Ernest Roberts family from about 1920-1990's and Ransom Goldsberry family 1915ish - 1933. Do you know of a good book or two that tells about Galesburg from 1910 onward. I know it was a railroad hub... Woodford County charges 5.00 to search and then a dollar per record that is not certified. They will hand the book to you and then they must go get the record. Some courthouse do not charge a search fee but they charge 7 to 10 dollars per record. Nothing is free any more. I must say Johnson County Iowa knows how to do it. The public records are in a seperate part of the room and you can search to your hearts content, then you write down every thing you need and they get it for you at a nominal charge for copying the material certified does cost more and if you deal by mail it is 10.00 a record and if they can't find it they keep the money for research time. 3. For Ken and the rest of you too.....here is another site that has a good deal of records online. Some here that are not on the rootsweb site and vice-versa. One thing I think is lacking on any site for Knox Co is census readings. http://www.iltrails.org/knox/ ----- Original Message ----- From: Dr Kenneth L Goldsberry To: [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, May 25, 2004 6:22 AM Subject: Re: [ILKNOX-L] Re: Knox County courthouse Sharon... would you please provide the URL for the Knox county website you said had most of the old records available.
