    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Thompson, Condra Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/4g.2ADE/1227.1 Message Board Post: Hello, John William Thompson is my great-great grandfather. I have all dates of birth and death dates of he and Mary Tamsel Condra's children (10 total). I have his marriage date to Mary (6 Dec 1876) and his death date (25 feb 1921). He died while on a trip to Idaho to visit his son (my great-grandfather) Aaron Milton Thompson (who is named after Mary's brother, Aaron Milton Condra). I found John and Mary, with two young children, Eva and Mead in the 1880 Oregon census (Linn County, Brush Creek Precint) but no other census since. I have John W, death certificate (copy), which lists his mother and father's name as "unknown". I have a dead end from there, as far as trying to figure out who his parents were. Any information you have about that would be very helpful to me. IN the 1880 census he lists his parents as being born in New York, but I can't find him in the 1850 census (when he would have been 4, with his family). Of course, on the 1880 Census he lists his birth place as! Kentucky, so that is where I've been looking, perhaps I will try the state of Illinios. There is a family rumor that he possibly changed his last name to Thompson, due to fleeing the civil war. I found the pedigree of Mary Tamsel on this site. I downloaded the GedCom file on the Condra line, it was posted by an Eininger.
