    3. Carol, Hi Email me privately. I have no idea how to get copies of Wills at this point in time. They won't copy them & now they won't let me go in and photograph them because you can not take cameras in the courthouse. I do know where your Joel is buried with some other family members. and also may have if I can find her email another person whom I did research for a couple of three years ago on this same family. she has tombstone photos I sent to her among other information. According to family lore they were planning to move to Kansas. Getting ready for the move, Joel drove his hogs to market in Galesburg, Knox County, Illinois. It was the last part of March in a cold rain. Joel died of pneumonia April 1, 1869. After burying Joel and sell ling everything they didn't need to take, Mary and the four youngest children moved to Kansas in the fall of 1869. I have found her and the children in Kansas 1870 census. I have also found Joel's will listed on page 75 of the Knox County Illinois Quarterly, Volume 3, #3 for both 1869 and 1870. This leads to my next request. Who do I contact to get copies of these wills? I have not found Joel in any of the cemeteries that I have been able to check. Thank you in advance, Carol Anne Kuse ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to ILKNOX-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

    3. Carol, I don't know if you have checked the records at the Family History Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. I checked for Joel Elwell and found a record which had been submitted on him and his wife, Mary Yaryan and a son Joel Coombs Elwell. You can check this out by going to www.lds.org . I also checked the catalog for court records of Illinois, but did not find wills for Knox County. Also, you might check the Illinois Statewide Marriage Indez which is on line. I have found several marriages there. You can find it by going to Google and putting in marriages in Illinois. I hope this is of some help to you.
