Bob, I agree most heartily that ALL of the genealogical societies should make an effort to get the indexes for their publications on-line. I volunteer here in St. Clair county to do look-ups and take photos as my time permits, but I often feel that so much more could be done in the on-line community. Our local society has improved over the last two years in their on-line activities. I stayed out of the membership for many years because of their attitude towards out-of-state requests for help. I am happy to say that now there are many more members willing to help -- mostly those who have found that they can't afford to travel to get all of their own information.
