She also is looking for information on Jane Chance so you two should definitely compare notes. I don't know if I told you that my father has had a terrible brain injury. I have not been doing much genealogy. Last night I started to sort through my papers again and you will never guess what I found! I know that I told you I had that really bad photocopy and I don't know who has the original picture and that I had a few Bible entries regarding James. Well, I found a photocopy of James and Janes marriage license! There is something else that you both should know. If you were to go to http://www2.sos.state.il.us/cgi-bin/marriage you would get search results for James' marriages. Included here you will find Jane "CHANT". This is an error but it is your Jane Chance. They were married in Knox. There is also something peculiar on the marriage page out of the Bible. It has James' last name spelled as "Adkinson" when he was married to Sarah J. Hartley but as "Adkisson when married to Elizabeth Harper and to Jane Chance. Something else I found interesting.......Jane's husband before James was John B. Chance. Well, I have his date of death recorded in this Bible too. I find that odd. His date of death was Sept. 26, 1871. WHO is Sarah P. Chance????????? Her death is recorded right under John's as Sept. 26, 1854. Do you know?? Maybe if you don't Judy does?? Well, don't worry about paying for these photocopies that I will indeed send to you. They aren't of the best quality. I look forward to hearing from you! Cathy
