Mathews/wife (OR Sheriff O. J. Aldrich) who served as a deputy in the Sheriff's Office of Galesburg, Illinois in latter 1800s. I believe I've located his widow (age 55) in 1910 census of same locale, with son T. Lynn Mathews, age 25/single. Lynn is one of two children...the other having died before 1910. I have a hand-written recipe for making pickles I bought many years ago in an antique shop...written on the Sheriff's Office of Galesburg, Knox Co. Ill. stationery (O. J. Aldrich was Sheriff). I would like to return it to a family member who can offer a handwriting sample to aid in identification. Of course, it may not have been written by wife of either man, but this is a good place to start! Is a charming document and should be with a family member. Thank you, Anita
