I am looking for the descendants of William Famulener. A friend of mine received a scholarship from the William Famulener Foundation at Western Illinois University and is looking for information on the family to thank them. The University has no information on whom to send thank you cards to. I have found information on the family from the 1889 Knox County History and from census records, but nothing current. There are 5 listings in the entire US phone books and census records and I also found that there was a Famulener who donated a large art collection to Knox College. Thanks for any help. Joyce Hagerty
Joyce, Have you checked the SSDI? Rubie C. Famulener died 6-17-2003, last listed in Galesburg. Janet Famulener July 1971 in Abingdon, IL. I bet they have obits in Galesburg at the library. I see you have a winco.net email so I think you know where these towns are. if not let me know. What census years have you looked at? I find Wm Famulener, 85 years old is still living, found in Cedar Township, Knox Co, IL 1910. I find the family in Knox Co from at least 1870-1930. I assume this must be the namesake of the foundation. 3 Famulner's in 1910 next door that look to be his sons. 1930 census indicates Ruby was the wife of Kenneth M. Famulener. They had 2 daughters in 1930. Janet Famulener looks to have never married. She is found in 1930 a daughter of George. Illinois marriages and death index indicate this family was in Knox & Warren Co for some time. Depending on what year the foundation started, she could be the initial starter of the foundation, given she was a single woman on her death . Put the last name into switchboard.com with an "all states" filter. Shows 5 of them. Write them a form letter asking for help. With only 5 showing up and it being such a wierd last name my guess is that you will get a hit. Slainte, Tim Bruce or Patti Lawson wrote: >Joyce, > >Have you checked the SSDI? > >Rubie C.
