V - KNOX COUNTY Galesburg, Illinois newspapers 1907-1908 page 486 "YARDE - James E. one of the oldest residents of this section died Thursday afternoon at his home in Surry May 28, 1908 due to nine week illness of pneumonia. Last Feb. 6th was 70 years. He was native of Sommersetshire, England and came to Canada at age eight years. Three years spent there and since made his home in Warren and Knox counties. Married Sept. 12, 1858 Road M. Waters, the ceremony performed at Old Henderson. They had six children, survivors, J.W. Yarde, Mrs. Jennie Witherspoon of Whiteside Co., J.H. Yarde of Cameron, Charles W. Yarde of Henderson, Ill., Mrs. Hattie Rhykerd at home. Member of Christian Church. The funeral service will be held at the church in Henderson Sunday morning.
