He was born 6 January 1841 in Holly Springs, Marshall, MS. When he migrated to IL, he attended Knox College from 1861-64 where he met & married MARCIA COMSTOCK. Although I have not yet "proven" the details, I believe Daniel was a Methodist minister. He & Marcia had at least one known daughter, Lena, who married a Mr. Houser in California where Daniel lived until his death 1 December 1933. Both Daniel & Marcia are buried in the family plot in Whittier County, CA owned by my great-aunt Sallie (Sarah Ophelia Ayers - daughter of Thomas Jefferson Ayers & Lucy Ann Bennett) Scott, wife of Charles Coleman Scott.
