Cantwell, 71, of Rural Route 1, Box 95, died at 7:36 a.m. Sunday, July 11, 1993, at Galesburg Cottage Hospital. He was born June 4, 1922, in Philadelphia, Pa., to Michael S. and Kathryn Dill Cantwell. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Curtis (Carolyn) Larson of Rio; two grandchildren; two brothers, John Clenolden of Pennsylvania and Michael S., of Philadelphia, Pa.; and one sister, Betty Hoffman of Churchville, Pa. He was a machinist at Messinger Bearing Co. and then Frankfort Arsenal, both in Philadelphia. He later worked in the tool, die and gauge laboratory at Rock Island Arsenal. He played in the Philadelphia Athletics baseball organization from 1940 until he entered the service. He served as a sergeant in the Army from 1942-44. He was a member of American Legion Post 285 and St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Wataga. Memorial graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix, Ariz. There will be no visitation. Hinchliff-Pearson- West Galesburg Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Hemo-Dialysis Unit at Galesburg Cottage Hospital. .............. I am trying to confirm a connection to a Robert F. Cantwell and his family, SSDI last known residence in Galesburg, IL.. My Robert was son of Michael Stephen and Catherine Dill Cantwell. He was born in Pennsylvania, either in the Schuylkill County or Philadelphia area. I do not have spouse or children names. The "suspect" Robert was Born: 4 Jun 1922, Died: 11 Jul 1993.
