Does anyone know if there is a data base of the newspapers from Knox county. I'm looking for an article that was written by someone in Louisiana who was looking for some Egan relatives in the area. The article was written some time in the 1940's. This is about all I know on the subject. I'm researching James J. Egan who was the county clerk for Knox county for several years and believe the person who wrote the article was looking for him. My Grandmother Bertha Egan Arend Chapman was born to James Egan's son Henry Egan in Iowa and was placed for adoption following her mother's death. I believe that she was looking for her father's family and was the person who placed the add. I have made contact with most of the children of James and Ellen Egan but am looking for other relatives of James and Ellen Russell Egan.
