Tim, Do you know where the Farrell family came from before coming to Illinois. During the 1880 census I have a Mary Farrell b. 1840 NY and her son James A living with a Charles and Ellen Egan. Says his sisterL and nephew. I believe him to be the brother of my James Egan who was the county clerk in Knoxville for some time around 1875. Both of my Egans are born in Canada but their wives both came from NY. Hoping to find out where they lived in NY and thought maybe you would know where the Farrell's may have lived in NY. I believe that Mary's husband's name was also James.
