    1. [ILKNOX] Galva cemetery lookup
    2. Pat Thomas
    3. I am remodeling and all of my genealogy books are in boxes, wondered if anyone with the Galva cemetery books could look up John and Bengta Anderson. Bengta died in Walnut Grove township on 19 November 1946, can't sort John out, too many of them. Thanks, Pat Thomas 1335 Lakeview Avenue Winona, MN 55987 1-507-458-8227

Beleived to be William Sheaffer, son of Levi Sheaffer - blacksmith in Abingdon according to 1870 Census records. Have found listing on One World tree that states "Libbie Crawford" was married to William Sheaffer - however no contact or source information. Libbie/Elizabeth went to school at Hedding College and her grandfather was a reverend. If William was her husband and a blacksmith it would possibly make sense that they ran away. I have her other 2 marriage certificates and hoping to pair up with a fellow family member on this line to find out any family notes on her. Have check all Illinois marriage records, Royals death certificate does not have a fathers name, 1880 census states her as widowed, and Royal is living with an aunt in 1885. 3. I would bet that that is the place she is looking for. Where I grew up there was an orphanage for boys and also for boys whose parents could not handle them. It was a "working and productive farm". Sort of sounds like the same kind of set up. 3. I am searching for Sr. Mary Bernette , who was at St. Mary's 'old' hosp. in 1953. Was a temporary assignment in the Pediatrics Dept. Her home area was Dickinson Co./Iron Mountain, Michigan. She was finishing a nursing program to become a Reg. Nurse in the early 50's when I met her in Galesburg. Info found recently is that she may have left the convent in the 60's. She was of the Franciscian order which had hospitals in Galesburg,IL., Escanaba and Marquette MI. and Marinette, Wi. and Peoria, I believe. I have spoken with a family member of her now deceased professional skating partner in Iron Mountain, MI. Gleaning this tidbit... Her birth first name *might* have been Barbara. She could be 75 to 80 yrs. of age today. To anyone who might have known her, or knows of her now, I would kindly appreciate hearing from you. ginny
