    3. If they had a Farmington address and lived in Knox Co., that would place them in the south-east part of Salem Twp., in the vicinity of Sec.s 26,27,28 or 34,35, 36, Since Farmington is so close to the Knox Co. line that would be possible. 1. [ILKNOX-L] Davis, Hendrickson, Smith, Dennis, Hill families
    2. Seeking info on John DAVIS born abt 1835 IL. Family story is he was born in Cambridge, Henry Co., IL married abt 1860 to Susan SMITH b 1832 PA but of Knox Co., IL, had one child Senith Arvilla (Saphonia) DAVIS born 8 Aug 1861 Henry Co., IL who married Joseph DENNIS 1885 Knox Co., IL. John DAVIS died young, before 1862, and Susan remarried Wm. HENDRICKSON Oct 1862 in Peoria Co., IL. Susan had two more children. The 1870 census of Salem, Knox Co., IL substantiates this: Susan HENDRICKSON; Saphonia age 9; Dora age 6 (who married Albert Hill 1890 Fulton Co., IL) and Willis B. (Wm. B.) HENDRICKSON. No husband listed in household. Did husband die or were they divorced? Family story is Susan Smith Davis HENDRICKSON could not support her children so she gave them away about 1872. I’m thinking it has to be in Knox, Henry, Peoria or Fulton Co., IL. Susan supposedly died 27 May 1926 Knoxville, Knox Co., IL; however, no one has been able to find proof of this. Does anyone have access to records that might help or know of a good genealogist for hire that researches the above mentioned counties. Suggestions Welcomed. Thanks, GraceJackson@aol.com

    3. Don't know if this will be of any help but Oxford was actually in Henry County, though close to the north-west corner of Knox. If they had an Oxford address and were living in Knox Co., that would have to place them in the vicinity of Secs. 1,2.&3 or 7,8&9 of what is now Rio Twp. An early settler named Reece(perhaps Reese) Jones lived in that area, likely the first one to settle in that vicinity. I believe he lived in Sec. 1 near the present day Windmill Golf Course. Alexandra BRIDGETON MEMORIAL PARK, Bridgeton, Missouri This burying ground at 4616 Long Road was made into a memorial park in 1962. In 1959 several lawsuits were filed against the City for allowing the cemetery to deteriorate. Individual stones had already been removed "through error and misunderstanding" but members of the Bridgeton Historical Commission were able to learn the names of some who were buried there and a large monument was erected in 1963 which bears this inscription, "We honor the people buried here. They were part of this nation's adventure and their vision lighted the path we follow today." At the dedication ceremonies, Mrs. Anna Wilson gave a talk about African-American veterans who are buried here. Records indicate that the cemetery was integrated from its beginning. It was in use as late as 1954 and at least 100 people are buried in the two acres.
