    2. Looking for info on Sarah Ann Sloan or Henry Sloan. Sarah died 1929 and was living in Williamsfield, Knox, ILL in 1928. I do not know when her husband, Henry, died. Any info on this couple will be appreciated. Thank you.....Grace

Thank you......Grace Grace: If this happened about 1872, it is very likely that they would not be there in 1900. Perhaps you could find the 1880 Census returns for Knoxville and see if they appear in there. There are no HENDRICKSONs in the 1900 Census. However, in the list of those buried in the potters' field there, we find an entry which reads: HENDRICKSON, Oloff died Oct. 27, 1888, at the age of 67 Sorry we couldn't be of more help. Tom Lundeen

He was raised on a farm and sent to the common schools. He came to Galesburg in 1835, being the first colonist, and was married to Elizabeth Hudson in 1836. Randolph. Jane B. Randolph was born in Kentucky on Sept.26, 1831. Her parents moved to Indiana where her brother, William Randolph, was born in 1836. Their mother's name was Nancy(surname unknown). The family moved to Lee County, Iowa in 1843 and in the 1850 Iowa Cesus, Nancy is a widow, so her husband (unknown Randolph) died between 1836 and 1850. Jane B. Randolph married John B. Chance on Dec. 21, 1846 and had the following children; Shapley (1848), Mary (1853), Nancy (1855), George (1859), Jeanette (1860), Prudence (1864), Rebecca (1865), Reboudas (1865), William (1868), and John (1871). In the 1860 Missouri Census, John B. Chance and family are in Mercer County, Missouri. Jane's mother, Nancy Randolph is living with her brother, William Randolph and his new wife Nancy, on an adjacent farm. In the 1870 Census, Jane and John B. Chance are in Buchanan County, Missouri and William Randolph and his wife, Nancy, are in Decatur County, Iowa. In the 1880 Illinoia Census, William Randolph is in Knox County, Illinois with his wife and four children, William (1866), Sarah (1870), Kate (1876), and Mary (1879) all born in Iowa. Jane's husband, John Chance died between 1871 and 1876 and she married James Adkison on April 10, 1876 in Knox County, Illinois and she remained in Knox County until her death on Jan. 28, 1917.     3. Maybe this will help-- GULLETT, J. J. He was born in Putnam County, Indiana on June 12, 1823. His early life was passed on the farm and he was educated in the common schools. He learned the trade of a blacksmith, and also followed farming and gold mining. He moved from Indiana to Illinois, then to North Carolina, and again to Illinois, settling in Knox County in 1859. He was married to Delila Upton. They are the parents of three children. While in North Carolina, he was the Captain of Light- house, and worked in the gold mines of North Carolins from 1843 to 1859, digging down 998 feet. Democrat, P.O. Knoxville. Joan :o)

    3. The book you are refering to is: KNOXVILLE THROUGH FIVE GENERATIONS published for the sesquicentennial in 1981. Four ladies put it together. Two of them are still living in Knoxville. You might get in touch with them. Rosalie (Mrs. Joe) Burgess and Sally (Mrs. Jim) Hutchcroft. Sorry, I don't know their street addresses or telephone numbers. I have a copy of the book and will gladly send you a copy of any pages that you might want.
