    1. Re: [ILKNOX-L] Re: Almshouse Census 1900, Svenson
    2. Thank you Tom for that info. Can you tell me how old Anna Swanson was in 1900? I doubt that it is the same person, but one never knows for sure. The name Svenson was the Swedish spelling, I'm sure. My grandfather's first name was Swen, so I kind of think it would have been Swenson. Other records, however, have him recorded as Swan. LOL. Whatever. Thanks, Judy

    2. Hi, I posted this a couple weeks ago, but didn't see an answer, so I thought I would try again. Does anyone have access to a city directory for Galesburg 1900 and would be willing to do a look up for me? I'm looking for information on Robert Leftwich. According to the census, he was in Galesburg in 1900. I need his occupation and any other information available. Please help! Glenda in Phoenix

I believe she is one of mine :} In the past couple of months we have found a whole bunch of other family members that immigrated to Illinois from Sweden - just don't know what surnames they all used in the US! The name also does not appear on the list of burials there, which extend beyond the 1900 date. Sorry not to be of more help, Tom Lundeen

    2. Rex Cherrington
    3. Just ran across Manly's book on the web which includes a map of the various routes of the Lost '49ers. Manly wasn't a Jayhawker but travelled with them part of the journey and wrote about them. The map shows what is believed by some to be the Jayhawker route. Here's the URL: http://www.wickiup.com/wickiup/manly/index.html The trunk found by Jerry Freeman will be on "History's Mysteries" on the History Channel, April 25. Don't know the exact time. Rex
