Youngdahl in the 1912 Knox publication. I have a copy of the book, will look and see if this Youngdahl connects to Nels. If so, I will email you directly with the info.

Youngdahl. The database is titled USgenWeb Knox County, IL, Genealogy, with contact person Bob Miller. The info was compiled from published Knox County histories and records. My question is; is there a published story about the Nels Youngdahl family? Nels came to America in 1857 and settled first in Niccolet Co., MN. He married Bengta Goransdotter, whose sister Anna had married Nels Thorson. Both families moved out of MN after the 1862 Indian uprising. Nels T lived in Princeton, IL for a few years. I assume Nels Y moved to Galesburg. I would like to reestablish the connection between these two families.

Patti, Thanks for the info. At one time, I also checked the Illinois Statewide Death Index and was excited at first to find the listing for Lucy B. Tyler. I wrote for a copy of the death certificate and then found out that this Lucy was not the wife of Ralph Tyler, although the date of death lead me to think it was a possibility. This Lucy was a 9 month old African-American baby who sadly died of spinal meningitis. Lucy and Ralph Tyler were caucasian. Jude, The employees at the Library are very helpful but I am not sure how involeved they are in mail in requests. However, if you contact the Knox Co., Genealogical Society someone may help you. Look at their website for fees. (http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilknox/knindex.htm) or contact Elizabeth McLean [email protected] . I looked at the home page and noticed she will do naturalization lookups. Good Luck. I have just found another part of a family in Knox county. Many of the other family members had moved there earlier. John and Harriet (Thomas) Morrison were in Guernsey county, Ohio in 1860 with their 3 children. I can't find them at all in 1870, might have died in Ohio or possibly in Knox county. I have checked the likely cemetery books. But their son Thomas A. Morrison married Catherine Nancy Cozad on 5 November 1868 in Knox county, then may have moved after 1870, can't find them after that. I have names for Kate's parents from the LDS site, but not elsewhere. She was probably orphaned by 1860 when she and her sister lived with Ellison Allison and family. Then Thomas' sister Eliza J. married Thomas J. Myers on 16 September 1869 in Knox county. They moved to Iowa by 1880, can't find them in 1870. I don't know where the oldest brother Charles was between 1860 and 1870, but he is in Leavenworth prison by 1870. I am still working on this family, the Myers have started to come together, Thomas Myers was a Civil war soldier, so have ordered a pension file for him. But I am still trying to track down John and Harriet and the other children. To the List and Pat..... I truly apologize for the inappropriate post to the list. I don't know how the list got it, but I do sincerely appologize. I know not to send non genealogical post to the list. You have a great list. I rarely post, but when I have others have been willing to help and I've been able to help a few...
