    1. Rogers, Phillips
    2. After over 30 years of searching for information about my great-great grandparents, Charles Rogers and Eliza Phillips, I have finally been handed a genealogy gold mine. A very nice man answered my online query and said his family had the information I wanted. He had original letters and documents dated from 1819 to 1836. They lived in Knoxville from 1844 until their deaths in 1898. This has been so exciting. If this gentleman had not shared, I would never have found the information. Lucille

There is no hospital there. In the early 1900s it had as many as three grocery stores at one time as well as a grain elevator, railroad station, a church, and several other businesses but to my knowledge has never had more than a hundred people. It is located right on the Knox county line and some records for Rapatee people will be in Fulton County. Hope this helps. Clint Cannon

    3. Sorry to say but I don't know any relatives on either side other than the James and Ellen's children. I do know that James and Ellen Russell Egan married in Montreal, Canada at St. Andrews. They spent a couple years in NY and then came to Knox Co, Ill. He was born Ireland and she Scotland. None of the children as far as we know ended up in MI. There is a James Alexander Egan that dissapeared but we believe he was heading west towards Alaska. This MARBLE family also came from Mt Vernon Ohio ( as did my ROGERS family). The MARBLE children wer living with several families in Galesburg 1860 and 70s. The head of this MARBLE family was Jesse Hannibal who was blindand living with one of his daughters who was working for a BEENY family in Galesburg. Jesse H had a daughter named Eliza J. Could she be your Elizabeth MARBLE who married George? My ROGERS line married into this MARBLE line in New York. Ed Rogers
