    3. Wonder if anyone on the list is familiar with Gus Rausch or his family. He was born in Wisconsin in 1862, the son of the Rev. Carl Gustavus Rausch who became pastor of the German Evangelical Church in Galesburg in 1870. Gus married a relative of mine, Emma Howe in 1894 and spent about 10 years in Monmouth, before returning to Galesburg. He and his wife lived at 285 East Simmons Street. No surviving children. He owned a cigar store Gus died in 1923 in Galesburg and is buried at Hope Cemetery. Gus's siblings (according to his obit) were: Mrs. Clara Wenzel, Henry Gensert, Mrs. Julie Smith of Yates City, Mrs. Minnie (or Mamie) Gren of California, Mrs. Emily Kennedy of Galesburg. Two others were deceased: Mrs. John Wachs and Paul Rausch. Joyce Steffel Chicago, IL

Anyone considering this should be very careful not to include "living persons" as that could be very dangerous with all the "identify theft" out there! Just a word of caution! 3. Thanks to all of you for all your help. I have sent what I have found to my friend. I am off to the library today to see if I can find out anything from obits. The Famulener art collection at Knox College was donated by a grandson of William, so I am wondering if he donated the scholarship, too. I really appreciate all the suggestions that you have sent me. Ruby was a married to a descendant of a brother (I suspect) of William. There were two Famulener brothers who settled in Knox County, William and Jacob. There is a file on World Connect that has a lot of Famulener information in it, but not much on William. Again, I really appreciate all you have done, and I know that my friend appreciates all the leads, too. 3. Hi Margaret , One Answer to your McGrew child is he could had been in the house visiting when the 1860 census taker was there . My Grandmother told me of a story where a little girl followed the census taker to each house . So she was in everyones household . And since you found a McGrew close by that could be his family.
