    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Lindstrom, Sweeney Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/4g.2ADE/1793.1 Message Board Post: Your father was Frederick Charles Lindstrom b. Nov 21, 1905 in Chicago? If correct his family can be found in 1910 & 1920 in Chicago. In 1910 Fred C., is 39 a plumber born in Illinos to Swedish parents. His wife is Mary, 37 born in IL. Father in law Daniel Sweeney, 71 is also in the home along with 5 children, including Frederick, 4 years old. Illinois state marriage index shows Fred Lindstrom married Mary Sweeney 7-26-1893 in Cook Co, IL. The marriage license may well show his place of birth and parent's names to help you determine where in Illinois his parents could be found. The 1920 reading shows the same information except Dan Sweeney is gone and a sister in law Ida Sweeney is in the home. By 1930 Mary Lindstrom is widowed. A Frederick Charles Lindstrom died 8-9-1926 in Cook Co. Do you have his death certificate or an obituary that may yield clues? The 1880 census doesn't seem to give any match for your grandfather. But given the way census takers mispelled names the index may be missing him in the search. I have never used it but the following research ceneter comes highly recommended by others when searching for Swedish ancestors. http://www.augustana.edu/administration/SWENSON/

    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Rev. J.F. JAMISON which was taken at the Harrison Studio in Galesburg, Illinois. The photograph was likely taken in the 1880's with the Rev. appearing to be in his 20's at the time. The photograph was recovered in an album full of photographs of schoolmates some attending the Indiana State Normal School in Terre Haute, IN. A few photographs appear to be of students or teachers from a school in Galesburg, IL so I'm wondering if the original owner might have attended schools in both places. I'm hoping to locate someone from this JAMISON Family so that this wonderful old family treasure can be returned to the family. If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

    3. Louie, You need some more information, like birth and death dates, marriage, immagration dates, who they married, who their children were. Stuff like that. Also, Check roots web Swedish General Message Board, and the surname board. Send a message telling as much information as you possibly know, and someone there will usually do a look up of the CD Emigraten for you. Have you checked the Ellis Island site?? There are multiple sites that will help you with Swedish Geneaology stuff. Read a few of the old messages on the Swedish General Board and they will often direct you to some other sites that will tell you more about reasearch in Sweden.
